After a re-meet and re-greet amongst old friends, we expect Andrew will lead us through his patented and world-renowned warm up. For this day we are envisioning:

  • A technique workshop
    • articulation
    • flexibility
    • horn-specific techniques
    • period-specific playing styles
  • A master class-type opportunity for individual etude or prepared duet/group performance with feedback (in the safest and most encouraging environment ever!)
  • Beginning work on possible choir pieces we can present at WCAMS this coming year

 

Day 2: Saturday April 4th

Salt Spring Island Multipurpose Space (SIMS) 

124 Rainbow Road, Salt Spring

10:00am - 2:00pm

Coffee first, obviously. Then back at it! After our favourite warm up exercises:

  • Advanced ensemble skills
    • tuning and listening
    • leadership in a section and the roles of each chair
    • shaping phrases
    • mastering performance anxiety
  • Master class topics to be determined
  • Additional solo or ensemble performance opportunities
  • Horn choir rehearsal
