Word of warning — when you search for Salt Spring accommodation on various sites be sure to double/triple check the rental is actually on Salt Spring. Frequently, rentals in Vancouver Island towns/areas that are close to Salt Spring (eg Crofton, Cowichan Valley) show up as “Salt Spring” — you could get to Salt Spring fairly easily from these places but you would have to take ferries, and would be constrained by ferry schedules

In the boondocks, no cell service, idyllic 3 day minimum stay farm - about 10-15 minutes from town
